Girvan Christmas Street Party
December began with the Girvan Christmas Street Party and as Santa was greeting children inside Wave Hub, we served refreshments on the street to the long queue as they waited to go inside.

We served in excess of 200 cups of tea, coffee and hot chocolate with homemde shortbread and over 70 little bags of joy, sweets and soft drinks. Next year we will need to increase our little bags of joy threefold. It was good to chat to folks in the queue and also stallholders who came for a warm drink. It was a joy to be part of such a wonderful event and to be accepted as part of the community celebration.
The Christmas Street Party was celebrated in cold but dry weather. Later that week things changed and Girvan was it by a severe Storm. The Girvan Christmas Market, planned for over many months to take place at Stumpy Corner, was in danger of being cancelled. As a result of good community contacts we were asked if we could provide accommodation at short notice.
It was good to have a local contact in Girvan to open up the building so that the Christmas Market could go ahead.
In a few short hours the Go Girvan Team had transformed Wave Hub and put sufficient publicity out to make the Christmas Market a success.
